RESEARCH RESPONSE

In my response to the research I gathered I have combined the fast, action packed animation style of Melanie Jackson and the quirky illustration style of David Shrigley into my own animation. To create my illustrations I used a combination of watercolour and fine-liner. I opted for watercolour over other paints such as acrylic as it has a lighter presence on the paper and felt it would flow better in a fast animation. Similar to Melanie Jackson I varied the speed of the frames to alter the flow of the animation, creating an element of anticipation and unpredictability.
